By going green, you become environmentally responsible. You need become aware of the building or remolding supplies and how they are processed. You can look from the design to construction, maintenance, and deconstruction or what builders through into the landfill. When you build green, you are reducing your overall impact of the environment. You are reducing waste and pollution which will help your health. By reducing your water usage and becoming water efficient, you are saving clean water for other generations to use. By reducing the chemicals that are used in making your building supplies, you reduce the amount of chemicals that run off into our environment.
You can reduce the pollutants indoor as well. Before making a purchase for your home, check for additives and chemicals. I have found that most environmental friendly products cost more. If you can’t build completely green, take one aspect of your home and convert.
Buildings take a large amount of energy, mostly from fossil fuels like natural gas and coal. These can produce carbon dioxide which is the most common greenhouse gas that affects our environment.
